The U.S. premiere of short film You're Out written, directed and produced by Prosean Pictures founder Chaz Harris will take place on 5 October 2024 at The Gay Scary Shorts. The event is produced and hosted by The Filmmakers' Gallery at the Mary Pickford Theater in Coachella Valley - Cathedral City, CA near Palm Springs. The film will be included in a presentation of other scary LGBTQ+ short films.

The Filmmakers' Gallery has recently been building momentum at The Mary Pickford Theater by serving up a bi-annual ONE-NIGHT-ONLY LGBTQ+ SHORTFEST featuring special guests, the filmmakers, and cast of the film shorts that are either by or about people who are LGBTQ+. This October for The Season of the Witch, The Filmmakers' Gallery presents The Gay Scary Shorts - an evening that exclusively focuses on the horror genre, embracing LGBTQ+ shorts with an added theme on top.

Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite here. Check out the short film's trailer for the event below and if you can't make it to see it on the big screen, it's available to watch on YouTube.

PREVIOUS OCCUPANTS written by Prosean Pictures founder Chaz Harris was today announced as a Quarterfinalist in the 2023 Slamdance Screenplay Competition.

The supernatural thriller is one of 26 top screenplays selected in the horror/thriller category out of thousands of entries. The list of Quarterfinalists can be found on the Slamdance website here.

Since 1995, the Slamdance Screenplay Competition has established a strong track record for introducing writers to members of the entertainment industry who have gone on to produce, option and represent submitted work. Like the film festival, the competition is a place for new, bold, and raw voices with scripts that take risks, refuse compromises, and go places where most fear to tread.
