PREVIOUS OCCUPANTS written by Prosean Pictures founder Chaz Harris was today announced as a Quarterfinalist in the 2023 Slamdance Screenplay Competition.

The supernatural thriller is one of 26 top screenplays selected in the horror/thriller category out of thousands of entries. The list of Quarterfinalists can be found on the Slamdance website here.

Since 1995, the Slamdance Screenplay Competition has established a strong track record for introducing writers to members of the entertainment industry who have gone on to produce, option and represent submitted work. Like the film festival, the competition is a place for new, bold, and raw voices with scripts that take risks, refuse compromises, and go places where most fear to tread.

This week, Chaz Harris attended the European Premiere of "YOU'RE OUT" at FrightFest in the UK, where the film was screened to a sold-out audience as one of 13 international short films selected for the festival. The film was well received, with a 4-Star review from Cinerama Film that can be read here. An excerpt can be read below:

"Filmmaker Chaz Harris explores coming out through a horror lens, and the result is a sharp, cheeky, and detailed exploration of personal transformation and fear. From its sharp screenplay to its playful embrace of horror classics, Harris' film isn't afraid to explore the internal fears every LGBTQ+ person battles while putting on a smile in public." ~ Neil Baker, Cinerama Film
